Andrés Guadarrama

Andrés Guadarrama (1991) is a mexican composer, performer and improviser. He received his bachelor’s degree in composition from the Centro de Investigación y Estudios de la Música (CIEM). He currently studies with composers Germán Romero and Samuel Cedillo. His music has been performed in Germany, Switzerland, Japan, Colombia, Spain and
Mexico by musicians such as Joseph Houston, UMS ’n JIP, Eva Zöllner, Taller Sonoro, Boglárka Nagy, Irvine Arditti, Tambuco among others; and presented in festivals such as Donaueschinger Musiktage, Forum Wallis, Jornadas de Música Contemporánea CCMC and Foro Internacional de Música Nueva Manuel Enríquez. In 2016, he represented Mexico at the 63rd International Rostrum of Composers of UNESCO with his piece Yugen, which was recommended within the category of under 30 years of age. He was recipient of the Jóvenes Creadores 2017-2018 del FONCA, Mexico’s most im-
portant grant for young composers. He is cofounder of the Vorágines Collective, a platform for the production and divulga-
tion of contemporary music. He is a member of the Attica!, a contemporary music ensemble.
